Time: 10 am to 7 pm

Location: UBC’s Wesbrook Bldg. Room 100, 6174 University Boulevard, Vancouver, BC

This will be Vancouver’s fourth SkeptiCamp event, and we expect it to be the biggest and best yet. Come out to see and hear local skeptics give presentations, perform demonstrations, and discuss a wide range of topics related to science, skepticism, and critical thinking. Your participation will help make this event a success.

Admission: Free!

Register at: http://vancouver.skepticamp.org/ to be eligible for cool door prizes and guarantee your spot. Invite your skepti-curious friends and help promote skepticism.

Want to give a presentation? Talks will be lightning presentations of 10 minutes or less, so trim your content down to just the essentials. There’s always an opportunity for questions and audience interaction after each presentation. Anyone can volunteer to give a talk, but slots are limited. Register now, indicate your desire to give a presentation, and let us know your intended topic.

Vancouver SkeptiCamp 2010 T-shirts will be available at the event for $10 each.

There is free wifi Internet access at UBC, so feel free to live-blog and Twitter during the event, and post your photos to Flickr. Use the tag “#VanSkeptiCamp” so others can search for your tweets and pictures.

SkeptiCamp 2010 II planning!

Hey, guess what we’re doing? Planning the next SkeptiCamp, and it’s THIS YEAR! That’s right, we’re doing another one and we’re not going to stick to some arbitrary yearly schedule.

We don’t have a lot to say officially yet, but the current plan is to do this in late October 2010, and we’re going to try to tighten up the presentation time so we can get more great SkeptiCamp talks in the time we have. Start working on your projects now and rehearse them so that they take about 10 minutes and there’ll be some extra time for questions.

There’ll be more info, an accurate date, and the return of the registration form soon!

Thanks to everyone who organized, spoke, and attended Vancouver SkeptiCamp 2010! Despite a bit of a slow start we got through all our speakers.

We’ll try to get some photos, reports and maybe even video up here soon, but for now the organizers are taking some time off… before planning the next Vancouver SkeptiCamp! Stay tuned for info!

Because of the Paralympics, parking and navigation around UBC people have been having a problem getting here on time. We’re starting 25 minutes late, but with about 60 people here already Vancouver SkeptiCamp has begun!
